High-manganese steel, as a traditional wear-resistant material, has an austenitic microstructure during use. Under strong impact and compressive loads, High-manganese steel castings will undergo work hardening on the surface, with hardness increasing from approximately 200 HBS to over 500 HEW, while the core of the casting retains good toughness. This unique structure allows it to form a hard and wear-resistant outer layer on the surface, while maintaining high toughness and fracture resistance internally, leading to wide applications in impact wear resistance.
In order to further improve High-manganese steel castings performance, Duma Machinery Company has conducted extensive research in alloying, micro-alloying, carbon-manganese content adjustment, and precipitation strengthening treatment. Based on Mn13 steel, Duma successfully developed a new type of high-manganese alloy steel by optimizing the composition and adding appropriate amounts of alloying elements, such as chromium and new micro-alloying additives. After precipitation strengthening heat treatment, Duma conducted an in-depth analysis of the microstructure and properties of this alloy.
Research results show that after precipitation strengthening heat treatment, the austenite grains of the new high-manganese alloy castings are refined, and carbides are uniformly precipitated, significantly improving the wear resistance and work hardening ability of the material. These optimized High-manganese steel castings exhibit superior performance in wear resistance, impact resistance, and long-term reliability, suitable for more demanding working environments.
