Jaw plates are the key wear-resistant components of jaw crushers, usually divided into fixed jaw plates and movable jaw plates The movable jaw plate moves in a reciprocating motion during machine operation and forms a certain angle with the fixed jaw plate to crush the material. Therefore, the jaw plate is a wearing part and is easily worn after long-term use.
Depending on the different models of jaw crushers, fixed jaw plates and movable jaw plates there are also various sizes and materials, including high manganese steel, ultra-high manganese steel, etc. These materials can effectively meet the needs of equipment of different specifications. The working chamber of the jaw crusher is composed of a movable jaw plate and a fixed jaw plate. Both bear the strong crushing force and material friction, and are therefore easily worn. To protect these parts, wear-resistant liners, or crushing plates, are usually installed on the surface of the movable and fixed jaws. The surface of the crushing plate is designed in a tooth shape, and the angle of the tooth peak is generally set to 90° to 120°. The specific angle will be adjusted according to the size and nature of the crushed material. For large materials, the angle is usually larger, while smaller materials can use a smaller angle. The tooth spacing is usually equivalent to the width of the discharge port, and the ratio of tooth height to tooth spacing is generally between 1/2 and 1/3.
During the operation of the crusher, the wear rate of the upper and lower parts of the crushing plate is different, and the lower part is usually more severely worn. The crushing plate is in direct contact with the material and is subjected to strong crushing force and friction, which determines its service life and thus affects the machine's working efficiency and production cost. Therefore, extending the service life of the crushing plate is particularly important. In terms of improving the service life of the jaw crusher crushing plate, improvements can be made in design, material selection, assembly, and daily use.
In the production of crushers, fixed jaw plates and movable jaw plates the consumption is very large, so choosing high-quality materials is crucial. It can be said that the quality of the crusher largely depends on the service life of the jaw plate, while the crusher shell is generally not frequently damaged.
