In current mining operations, controlling crusher replacement part costs has become key to improving efficiency. As a core wear part, cast crusher liners directly affect equipment service life. This article focuses on the optimized selection of crusher wall and concave, revealing the three core technologies to extend the service life of cone crushers.

I. Precise matching of crushing chamber type

● Standard chamber type (feed > 100mm): Suitable for secondary crushing, it is recommended to use Mn18 cast liner

● Short head chamber type (feed < 100mm): Suitable for tertiary crushing, Mn22 wear-resistant liner is recommended

Note: The closed-side gap should be controlled within the range of 3-8mm. If it is too large, the output will decrease by 20%, and if it is too small, it will cause abnormal wear of the liner.

II. Scientifically matching the mantle and concave

Crusher liners produced by new casting processes can be divided into five categories:

● Coarse crusher liner: Inlet width up to 500mm (suitable for high-abrasion materials such as basalt)

● Medium crusher liner: Inlet 300-400mm (granite crushing selection)

● Fine crusher liner: Inlet ≤250mm (suitable for medium-hard materials such as limestone)

● Super coarse/super fine type: Customized for special working conditions (material Mohs hardness test report needs to be provided)

III. Enhanced surface protection technology

For cast crusher liners the initial wear problem, it is recommended to adopt a composite protection scheme:

● Titanium carbide coating: Increases surface hardness to HRC65 (cost increases by 15%, lifespan increases by 40%)

● Ceramic inlay process: The impact resistance of key wear parts is increased by 3 times

 

Practice has proved that using the new cast crusher liners the average replacement cycle of crusher walls and concaves can be extended from 600 hours to 850 hours. A case study of a granite quarry shows that by optimizing crusher liner selection and combined with gradient casting technology, the annual procurement cost of crusher replacement parts is reduced by 28%, and the overall equipment energy efficiency is increased by 19%.

 

Special reminder: When selecting cast crusher liners it is necessary to require the supplier to provide a test report (error ≤ 0.1mm) and a micro-metallographic map. It is recommended to monitor the liner thickness every quarter. When the thickness of the liner working surface is worn more than 30% of the initial value, the replacement procedure should be started in time to avoid a cliff-like decline in equipment performance.
